This ethereal and dynamic dance form was nurtured during the long and storied history of the Bicchu region of western Okayama Prefecture, and is a nationally-designated important intangible cultural property. You will be captivated by stories based on myths and legends, such as the Opening of the Great Rock Cave, the Transfer of the Nation, and the Elimination of the Great Serpent. The Bicchu Kagura Preservation Society also performs a Kibi-no-densetsu Ura Kagura based on the Okayama legend of Momotaro.
