The Hiruzen Kogen Highlands are one of the premier highland resorts in Western Japan, and it is here that the locals have since ancient times enjoyed yakisoba fried noodles made with chicken and cabbage, and a miso-based sweet and spicy sauce. In the 2011 “Revive Towns with Local Gourmet Dishes! B-1 Grand Prix” event, the Hiruzen Yakisoba Suiton Association won first place.
